The book was originally published in 1902. Also mentioned is the Champlain Society of which Charles Eliot was a member. Published in the "Bar Harbor Times" on October 5, 2000.

Sepia photograph of Reginald Chauncey Robbins. Reginald C. Robbins was an author, botanist and songwriter born in Boston and educated at Harvard. As a summer resident, he was greatly involved with the Northeast Harbor Yacht Club. He authored a number of volumes of poetry, including "Earlier Poems" and "Love Poems" (in our collection). Included is a small biography of Reginald C. Robbins as a racing sailor, written by Michael Crofoot.
