Gave freely of his knowledge and his time to the place he loved so dearly. This is a record of his contribution to the development of Northeast Harbor.

For some years. when he was a widower, he and his sister-in-law, Miss Miriam Reynolds, occupied the cottage "Bishops-gate-Within". Later he occupied a cottage back of the Clifton House overlooking the harbor. This picture was taken on Mrs. Pepper's piazza.
