The photographs are of the Gymkhana, which was an event held on August 31, 1904 to benefit the Northeast Harbor Library. The albums were assembled by Katharine Lowell Roosevelt and later Mrs. J. The Rev. William R. Huntington, D.D., Rector of Grace Church, New York. A man of saintly character, exquisite literary taste and of wide influence in the Episcopal Church. For some years. when he was a widower, he and his sister-in-law, Miss Miriam Reynolds, occupied the cottage "Bishops-gate-Within". Later he occupied a cottage back of the Clifton House overlooking the harbor. This picture was taken on Mrs. Pepper's piazza.
